What Students Receive

  • A 90-hour Foundation Course in Laban Movement Analysis and Somatic Practice™
  • One hundred (100) hours of tuition for each succeeding Module, as well as one-to-one work with an Advisor during and between Modules
  • An Advisor’s written and verbal feedback on projects, assignments, and assessments;
  • Inidividual peer and group feedback in class sessions; as well as personal time for exploration and discovery during studio hours
  • Learning in a dynamic group environment with a high teacher-to-student ratio
  • Final LMA/BF & Somatic Practice Application presentations shared with your training group in Module Five
  • 500 total hours in professional training in Movement Analysis and Somatic Practice™
  • Hands-on re-patterning practice and training in Bartenieff Fundamentals; as well as developmental elements of Body-Mind Centering®
  • Training in comprehensive movement and language skills used in dance, theatre, performance, movement research, teaching, clinical work, bodywork, yoga and Pilates, and dance movement therapy
  • An LSSI Certificate in Movement Analysis and Somatic Practice
  • A Certificate of Completion for each successfully completed module, including the Foundation Course
  • With all five modules, fulfillment of requirements for registration with the International Somatic Movement Education and Therapy Association (ISMETA), for the title and registration as a Somatic Movement Therapist and/or Educator
